Volkswagen Corporation unveiled the design and some specifications of its own new cross under the name ID.4.
As noted, the photo shows the pre-production version of the car, but the product variation will not differ from it. The car will go on sale in 2021. The novelty will be released in the markets of China, Europe and America.
The corporation emphasized that the crossover will boast a low drag coefficient. Autonomy news amounted to 500 km. At first, a cross with a rear-wheel drive system will be sold, versions with all-wheel drive and two motors located on each axis will appear.
The new model will receive a quick charge system, which will make it possible to charge batteries by 80% in just half an hour. The machine will be based on the MEB platform, created specifically for cars with electric motors. The design of the new product will resemble the Crozz prototype. The concept has a length of 4625 mm, a width of 1891 mm, a height of 1609 mm. The distance between the axles is 2773 mm. According to reports, ID.4 will receive the same interior as the Tiguan Allspace.
Later, the Volkswagen green line will include an electric cross-coupe. In total, by 2025, the German brand intends to launch in a series of more than 20 cars that will receive electric motors.
