Volkswagen has created and tested super clean fuelDecember 4, 2018
Diesel fuel has been used at gas stations in two German cities since January of this year. Also, for the sake of the experiment, the cars of several employees of the company were refueled exclusively by him, writes Autoevolution.
R33 BlueDiesel, namely the so-called new product, is a kind of biodiesel, invented by specialists of the German company together with the University of Coburg. It is obtained from the industrial processing of spent deep fat. The idea itself is not new, however, according to Volkswagen representatives, they managed to improve it.
That is, the usual processed oil from potato frying is used, more precisely, it is used as a raw material for synthesis.
Cars that fueled with “blue diesel” showed a 20 percent reduction in CO2 emissions, when compared with conventional diesel fuel.
Europe is very strict about environmental issues, including the requirements for environmental friendliness of fuel. Any fuel meets the requirements of Euro-6, including diesel.
R33 is still at the experimental stage, but the company’s specialists believe that this fuel will surely find its buyer and will appear on many city gas stations.
