Volkswagen has confirmed the serial production of the ID Concept. Space vizzionNovember 18, 2020
The German brand’s CEO confirmed on LinkedIn that the Shooting Brake is in preparation for production.
The elegant Volkswagen ID.Space Vizzion station wagon will stand on the carpet. This is stated in a message on the social network LinkedIn, posted by Volkswagen CEO Ralph Brandstätter. While the post does not specifically mention the Space Vizzion concept that debuted at the Los Angeles Auto Show last year, we know this is the car for two reasons. The vehicle is specifically described as Shooting Brage, and the photos show a prototype.
The specs are likely to be similar to those of the Space Vizzion. Brandstätter says it will have a range of 700 km. It is expected that in fact this figure will not exceed 500 km, since the ID.4 crossover, which uses the same MEB platform as the serial Space Vizzion, can travel 400 km. The production Space Vizzion should be more aerodynamic and will probably be able to travel further than the ID.4. Power is likely to be the same as the ID.4, with 201 hp in the base version and 302 hp in the all-wheel drive version.
We’re not surprised VW is launching this car. It seems that almost every concept of the ID family has received a production version. For example, the original ID becomes ID.3, ID.Crozz becomes ID.4, and ID.Buzz is also slated for production. Space Vizzion is of great importance to Europe, in particular due to the continents’ constant demand for station wagons. Moreover, the serial production of the novelty should begin as early as 2023.
