Volkswagen has announced the premiere of the new generation “charged” hatchback Golf R. In addition, a teaser photo of the future novelty was published.

The new Golf R will premiere on 4 November. A day later, German and European Volkswagen dealerships will begin accepting pre-orders for the vehicle.

“More powerful, more dynamic, more efficient, more integrated, more digital” is how Volkswagen describes the characteristics of the new Golf R, the dynamic flagship of the eighth generation Golf.

There is not as much information about the technical “stuffing” of the new Golf R as we would like. A 2.0-liter turbo engine of the EA 888 family will appear under the hood of the car. Its performance is still kept secret, but the manufacturer promises that the new Golf R will become the most powerful “Golf” in the history of the model.

Thus, it turns out that the new Golf R should be significantly more powerful than the 300 horsepower that the Golf R of the current generation develops. Most likely, the new product will develop 330-350 horsepower.

The torque will be transmitted to the wheels through an all-wheel drive transmission. The new Golf R will also receive an electronically controlled XDS front axle differential and DCC adaptive chassis control.

Production of the new Golf R will take place at Volkswagen’s headquarters in Wolfsburg, Germany.

We will remind, earlier Volkswagen Golf R has already managed to light up in spy photos, thanks to which it became known that the novelty will differ from other sports variants of the model with a special grille, a bumper with larger air intakes, a diffuser with 4 exhaust pipes and a spoiler on the trunk lid.
