Volkswagen Golf new generation will be longer than its predecessorJune 25, 2019
Experts believe that with the new wheelbase European bestseller will be even more attractive to buyers.
A new generation of Volkswagen Golf Mk8 again noticed on the tests. This time the car got into the lenses of photo spies with little or no camouflage, which made it possible to see in detail the future novelty. So, the new Golf will get modified bumpers. The upgrade, according to experts, is noticeable, but not cardinal. Another difference from its predecessor is the rear lights, which are likely to be smaller. It is difficult to judge the proportions yet – they are still partially covered with a protective film.
The hood of the car is now decorated with a new vyshtampovka, and the rear spoiler has become more sporty. The sideline went up, “cutting through” the door handles. The rear-view mirrors also moved – they were positioned slightly lower than on the current Golf.
The rear door has become longer, which means that more space is now provided for rear passengers. Experts note that a longer wheelbase will add extra points to the new product on the market. Recall that last year Volkswagen Golf was named the most popular car in Europe: it was purchased 445,754 times. Probably due to customer sympathy for the predecessor, Volkswagen engineers did not reshape the popular hatchback. The most noticeable changes are expected in the salon of new products – from better materials of finishing to new options. The presentation of the novelty promise to hold before the end of this year.
