Volkswagen Golf in the new generation can get up to 328 horsesJanuary 9, 2020
In 2020, Volkswagen will bring to the market many interesting hatchbacks. These include the Volkswagen Golf GTI, TCR, and Golf R. Little is known about them yet, but insiders have revealed some details.
The new generation Volkswagen Golf will continue the tradition of the best-selling hatchback in the European market. It will be presented in several versions at once. From the most affordable, to sports with a powerful motor. In 2020, modifications to the Golf GTI, TCR and Golf R will enter the market.
The eighth generation Golf in the classic version of the GTI will receive a 2.0-liter gasoline turbo engine. Its power will be about 232 horsepower. Together with it, a soft hybrid system with a 48-volt on-board network will work. Buyers can choose between a six-speed manual or seven-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission.
For more extreme driving, you can choose the Volkswagen GTI TCR. It will also receive a mild hybrid and a 2.0-liter turbo engine. But its capacity is already 286 horsepower. In addition, the “charged Golf” can get the rear limited slip differential, modified brakes, larger wheels and lowered clearance.
The most powerful will be the Golf R, which will receive a similar power plant, but boosted to 328 horsepower and 400 Nm of torque. Together with him, a seven-speed robotic transmission will work.
Volkswagen Tayron, meanwhile, sets new sales records. The German auto giant shared information on the sales of its crossover for 2019.
