The leadership here once again belongs to the Volkswagen Golf hatchback, which is considered the best-selling car in the Old World for more than ten years. And the German automaker is clearly not in a hurry to give this title to competitors. Wanting to strengthen the position of their legendary model, Volkswagen organized work on the eighth generation Golf, the presentation of which was held in the fall of 2019.
In the footsteps of his titled relative, there is also an electric e-Golf, which according to the results of 2019 earned the right to be called Volkswagen’s most popular electric car among Europeans.
Thus, according to the estimates of the JATO Dynamics research company, only in December Volkswagen Golf, the leader in the list of European bestsellers, sold 30,652 cars (+ 3%). The second most popular is the Renault Clio with a score of 19,576 units (+ 6%). “Bronze” goes to the Tesla Model 3 electric car, in whose favor 22 118 people made a choice. Ford Kuga and Dacia Duster are not far from the first three – 22 045 and 20 933 cars respectively. Both models boast excellent positive dynamics.
The sixth becomes Renault Captur, which was featured in 20,299 deals, and the December TOP-10 of Europeans’ favorite cars Nissan Qashqai (19,726 cars), Dacia Sandero (19,204 copies), Volkswagen Polo (18,263 buyers) and Peugeot 208 (17,612 pieces) close )
