Volkswagen Golf GTI 2022 will receive many new featuresMay 14, 2020
The Mk 8 Golf GTI hot hatch comes with a heated steering wheel, a door light and a six-speed manual gearbox as standard.
The Volkswagen Golf GTI is entering its eighth generation and will arrive in the United States at the end of next year as the 2022 model. Unfortunately, the base model of the Mk 8 Golf will probably not reach the coast of America, but there will be a high-performance Golf GTI, and it will have many new standard features and some new options, too.
The new Golf GTI will feature front grill lighting. 10 individual LED fog lights are integrated in the lower honeycomb grill. Lighting will also appear under the door, and the lamps will be located in the side mirrors and projected onto the ground. Also standard on the new GTI are 19-inch wheels. Michelin Pilot Sport Cup tires are also available.
In the interior of the Mk 8 Golf GTI, a completely digital instrument panel will appear, the steering wheel now comes with heating as standard, has touch buttons and a digital dial. To the left of the steering wheel you will find controls for outdoor lighting, which can also be adjusted using the touch buttons. The head-up display and Harman / Kardon sound system, which replaces the Fender system, are optional.
Standard heated seats received a new design, traditional for the GTI, although heated and ventilated seats made of perforated leather are optional. A six-speed manual gearbox is standard, but a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission is also available.
The Volkswagen Golf GTI 2022 is scheduled to arrive sometime in late 2021. The company said that they have yet to decide whether the GTI or R model with higher performance in the US will be the first to arrive. Prices are expected to start at around $ 30,000.
