Volkswagen electric crossover caught on the roadJanuary 14, 2020
The new Volkswagen ID.4 crossover is developing even faster than we might have expected. The model completes the stage of road trials and does not hesitate to be shown to photo spies.
The electric crossover is the second car in the new EV line of the German brand. The first was a compact hatchback VW ID.3. In the future, there will be several more crossovers, a city car, a minivan and a luxury sedan. As it became known, the production of Volkswagen ID.4 will begin this year in Europe, and from 2022 – in the United States.
The official premiere of the novelty will take place later this year, but we can now draw many conclusions about the design of the electric crossover. Largely due to weak camouflage, which is practically absent, to consider the appearance is not a problem.
The body shape resembles not only an SUV, but also a minivan, which alludes to a spacious interior. Perhaps, as an option, VW ID.4 can be bought with three rows of seats. The obvious camouflage film can be seen only on the company logo and taillights: they will actually be interconnected by an LED strip.
The mentioned VW ID.3 will share not only a modular platform, but also batteries with a capacity of 45-77 kWh. In the case of the new crossover, depending on the selected unit, the range on one charge will be 330, 420 and 550 km.
