The German company Volkswagen has decided to replenish the line of electric models ID with a new concept for the electric station wagon. The novelty was shown a couple of days before the official opening of the Los Angeles Motor Show.

This car will be the seventh in a family ID, where all models are built on a modern platform MEB. Recall that the brand plans to release about 27 electric cars with this architecture. It will be released in a series next year, and the first model will appear in the American car market only in 2022.

In the brand itself, such a combination was described as a successful tandem of the aerodynamic design of Gran Turismo and the versatility of a roomy SUV. Without recharging such a “green” wagon will be able to drive about 590 kilometers. The 82 kWh battery is responsible for this. She works in conjunction with a 275-horsepower electric engine.
If desired, the power can be increased to 335 hp. using an additional power plant and all-wheel drive system. With such data, the electric car will accelerate to 96 km / h in just five seconds, and its maximum speed will be 175 km / h.
The conceptual ID Space Vizzion receives the VW logo with a backlight, as well as LED matrix lights IQ Light and DRL. The latter are decorated in the form of honeycombs. The grille and door handles are missing, which gives the concept a somewhat futuristic appearance. The decoration of the center console was a “soaring” 15.6-inch display with which you can control multimedia, “climate” and individual functions of the car.
When decorating the interior, AppleSkin eco-leather was used, obtained from the remains of apple juice production. The declared boot volume is 586 liters. The Germans promise to show the serial wagon at the end of 2021. The main markets for Space Vision are Europe, China and North America.
