Volkswagen decided on the sales date of the “stretched” Polo PlusJune 14, 2019
A long version of the popular German hatchback will be available for purchase on June 18th. New debuts in the Chinese car market.
Volkswagen next week starts selling the “stretched” Polo hatchback with the Plus prefix in the title. In the meantime, the dealers of the brand continue to receive the first commercial vehicles. In addition to the new dimensions, the Polo Plus, designed for car enthusiasts from China, differs from the standard VW Polo with new bumpers and slightly “retouched” optics.
For the first time, the Volkswagen Polo Plus was shown in April of this year at the Shanghai Motor Show. Unlike the global model, the Chinese version of the hatchback has noticeably grown: by 83 mm in length (up to 4,053 mm) and 58 mm in width (up to 1,740 mm), the distance between the axles (2 564 mm) also increased by 94 mm. But the height remains the same – 1,449 mm.
Thanks to the new dimensions, the Polo has become much more spacious, in the first place these changes will be appreciated by passengers traveling in the rear seats. At first, the extended version of the Polo will be equipped with a single-and-a-half-liter “aspirated” power of 115 hp, working in tandem with a 5 speed manual gearrbox or an automatic with six steps. Later, the 1.4-liter turbo engine with a “robot” as a transmission will fill up the motor range of the novelty.
