Volkswagen dealers began selling cheap crossover Jetta VS5August 21, 2019
Residents of China can book a novelty today, but the first commercial vehicles will fall into the hands of their owners only on the fifth of September.
Volkswagen has announced the start of sales of the new budget crossover Jetta VS5. In the spring, Jetta ceased to be just a sedan and retrained into an independent inexpensive brand. The Jetta VS5 crossover is a converted and cheaper version of the popular Volkswagen Tharu model. The new SUV differs from the “donor” by a redesigned grille, modified bumpers, athletic stampings on the hood, other optics and a modified glazing line.
When decorating, the manufacturer made a choice in favor of inexpensive materials. However, the functionality was not affected: there was a place for a multifunctional truncated steering wheel, multimedia with a large touch screen and an original front panel.
In motion, the Jetta VS5 drives a 1.4-liter 150-hp turbo engine, paired with Aisin’s 6AKPP. All-wheel drive does not have to count even for a surcharge. But in the list of available options there are up to six airbags, ESC and ABS, parking sensors, air conditioning or climate control, as well as 17-inch alloy wheels.
The most affordable Jetta VS5 in China will have to pay 89,800 yuan. The maximum equipped crossover is estimated at 119,800 yuan
