The general director of the American division of the Volkswagen concern, Hinrich Vöbken, revealed new details about the company’s future line of cars for the North American market. The manufacturer intends to release a sedan Passat GT and two new crossover, one of which will be a cross-compartment, and the second will be located below the current Tiguan. The announced expansion of the assortment of the German brand for the US will occur no earlier than 2019. In the meantime, next year, America will see the presentation of a new generation of the Volkswagen Jetta S-class sedan and the debut of the four-door Arteon coupe already sold in Europe.
By the end of next year, a new Passat GT 2019 sedan can be introduced. A few years ago, the Volkswagen concern presented the concept of this model. Judging by rumors, the novelty can be equipped with a 3.6-liter V6 engine with a power of 280 horsepower and a torque of 349 Nm.
One of the new crossovers for the US in 2019 may be a compact T-Roc, which has already been introduced to the European market. It is he in the line is under the crossover Tiguan. By that time, the concern also intends to issue restyling of the Passat sedan.
