Volkswagen announced the Nivus coupe crossDecember 5, 2019
Volkswagen Corporation announced the name and showed off a couple of images and a video teaser of the new Nivus coupe crossover.
An inexpensive cross-coupe, which has every chance of becoming a successful model in both South America and the world market, will appear next year.
The first information about the cross appeared in the summer, first it was called the New Urban Coupe, and then, trusting a number of media – T-Sport, which the brand registered several months ago. Now it turned out that the German brand decided to break the tradition of calling its own crossovers with the letter T and assigned the new car a completely different, non-standard name for itself Nivus.
It is expected that the upcoming SUV will be based on the modular platform MQB A0, which underlies the “European” hatchback Polo, the compact cross-country T-Cross and the Brazilian Virtus sedan. Accordingly, there is a possibility that the coupe-crossover will receive the same engines as the VW Polo, which is offered in Brazil with two atmospheric power units (1.0 MPI per 75 hp and 1.6 MSI per 110 hp ) and a 1.0-liter “turbo-engine” with a capacity of 116 hp The engines operate in conjunction with a 6-speed manual transmission and a 6-band automatic.
The novelty will begin to produce at the Brazilian company in São Bernardo do Campo in May next year. It is estimated that its value will vary between 75 – 80 thousand reais.
