Volkswagen announced the debut of the facelifted 2022 Tiguan Allspace on May 12May 6, 2021
Volkswagen refreshed the Tiguan crossover last fall, but only to a smaller European version. Now, the larger, three-row Allspace will experience the same.
As a result of the update, the Volkswagen Tiguan crossover will be as much as 22 cm longer than the standard crossover. The Tiguan Allspace offers up to three rows of seats and 1,920 liters of cargo space.
Volkswagen says the update will mean new control and assistance systems, as well as an impressive range of online services and improved infotainment software. The concern is still hiding what the car will look like. At the same time, representatives of the brand acknowledged that the modernization will bring almost the same innovations as the short wheelbase of the Tiguan.
As you can see from the teaser, the designers have changed the taillights. The restyling also brought new LED headlights that look more like the Mk8 Golf.
Restyled bumpers in the bow and stern have joined the Tiguan badge in the center. The new 4Motion lettering will also help distinguish the new Tiguan from the old one.
Inside, the updated short-wheelbase Tiguan also received modest updates. You can highlight the new steering wheel with touch buttons on the sides of the infotainment screen. There are new controls with “natural” voice. Wireless app connectivity helps drivers connect to their vehicle, while an 8- or 10.25-inch dashboard provides them with the information they need.
The long-wheelbase Allspace will get the same dashboard as the standard restyled Tiguan. Allspace is the more popular version of the Tiguan. The crossover for the European market is manufactured in Puebla, Mexico. The production of the Chinese Tiguan L will be established in Shanghai.
Volkswagen will unveil the new Tiguan Allspace on May 12. Pre-sales will begin in the coming weeks.
