The companies Volkswagen and Ford announced the creation of a strategic alliance, within which they will jointly develop and produce cars. This is written by Reuters.
Manufacturers specified that at the moment they are “considering several joint projects”, including the development of a line of commercial vehicles for world markets. At the same time, manufacturers do not intend to exchange property or buy shares of each other.
More detailed information on what the future alliance will be is not yet available.
Earlier Volkswagen concern, owning cargo brands MAN and Scania, signed a partnership agreement with the brand Hino, which belongs to Toyota. The companies intend to work together on diesel and gasoline-electric power units for commercial vehicles, as well as on systems of autonomous control and communication of machines with each other.
Volkswagen and Ford have previously created joint models – Sharan and Galaxy. The machine was produced in 1995 at an enterprise in Portugal. The second generation of these brand machines developed independently.
