Prior to that, Apple’s plans were to create a commercial line of fully self-managed electric vehicles. Also in the project could take part BMW and Mercedes-Benz. However, later it was decided to abandon these plans.

In addition, it was expected that Apple will develop its own car with electric power plant and autonomous control systems. It was assumed that the electric car, known under the code name Titan, will appear between 2019 and 2021. However, in the fall of 2016, Bloomberg reported that Apple’s management decided to abandon the creation of its own car.
