Vintage Volkswagen e-Bulli turned into an electric carMarch 17, 2020
This updated historic van will appear before the general public this month as part of the Techno Classica exhibition, which will be held in Essen from March 25 to 29.
Fans of classic cars would like to be behind the wheel of their favorite models, though equipped with electric motors – the latest in car fashion. Automakers know this and often pamper fans with this kind of novelty. One of them is the e-Bulli passenger van, which organically combines the latest technology and a rare design. This car is based on the 1966 T1 Samba Bus model. He got a more modern and safer chassis, as well as today’s popular electric drive.
Working on the exterior and interior of the new items, the developers tried to maximally preserve its historical appearance. So, the designers left the van its branded round headlights, however, making them LED. In the same vein, they worked with the interior.
Among the innovations it is worth noting leather chairs, a selector of an automatic box of a new shape, a floor with wooden trim, an upgraded dashboard, etc. There was a place in the ceiling console for a built-in tablet designed to control various functions of the car. More details about the new product will appear closer to the announced debut.
