The leading online auctioneer of classic cars, The Market, without a reserve, offers a limited edition sports coupe Lotus Esprit Turbo GC, which is considered an example of the “holy grail” in the automotive world.

In total, 21 copies of this model were built, and the entire production was dedicated to the celebration of the 21st anniversary of the start of Lotus production at the Hethel plant. It was this Lotus Esprit Turbo HC that was released at number 10. Moreover, it is one of five made in a two-tone body Exex Blue.

The car left the assembly line on February 27, 1987 and was sold to one of the local companies. He later spent about 14 years in a private collection in Portugal, before returning to the UK in 2018.

Subsequently, it was acquired and completely restored by one of the lovers of antique cars in April last year. He was supposed to be the “eternal car” of his current owner, but no, they decided to sell the car – the coupe was valued at more than 10,000 pounds.

The car is in excellent condition, almost perfect body color and original interior trim. He has a total of 87,870 kilometers on the odometer. The sale includes the vehicle’s factory tools, a two-color portfolio, and stickers on the front and rear windows.

“This Lotus Esprit Turbo HC is in incredibly good condition – one of the best, if not the best, at the moment,” says Tristan Judge, director of The Market auction. “Being such a rare car and in such a fantastic condition, it is ideal for careful use or as a central element in the collection of classic cars.”

As a result, it is expected that the old Lotus car will be sold for between 40,000 and 50,000 pounds respectively, and the auction will be closed on Monday, April 13.
