Vietnamese VinFast Lux V8 crossover based on the BMW X5 officially presented
March 7, 2019At the Geneva Motor Show, though not loudly, the presentation of the new crossover from Vietnam was solemnly held. The car is built on the official platform of the best-selling Bavarian company and boasts a “cool” engine.
The Vietnamese company VinFast decided to “break into” the international car market with the help of a new car line. The company bought from BMW the rights to use the platform from previous generations of the 5-Series sedan and X5 crossover. As part of the ongoing Geneva Motor Show, the first crossover LUX V8 was introduced.
It is worth noting that the model received an interesting design with narrowed optics, as well as a clear sporty inclination, expressed in a wide grille, large air intakes on the bumper, a stylish exhaust system and red brake calipers.
A special feature of the model was the atmospheric V8 engine with a displacement of 6.2 liters, capable of developing up to 460 horsepower and 624 Nm of torque. The stated maximum speed is 300 km / h. A similar engine is used on the sports car Chevrolet Corvette from GM.
While the sedan and crossover are in preparation for mass production. The first cars should get off the assembly line at the end of 2019.
