Very rare Ford speedster appeared on saleOctober 26, 2019
An announcement on the sale of the exclusive Ford Indigo speedster 1996 production year was published on Facebook.
It should be mentioned that the Ford Indigo demonstration took place at the Detroit auto show in 1996. Despite the praise of the public, which was struck by the originality and uniqueness of the machine, the model was not received in the series. This old decision was due to the fact that the creators could not adjust the speedster to the rules for road cars. But in the end, they released 3 copies of the original car.
The Indigo model, which is for sale, has a fully preserved body with doors, interior and all exterior elements. Alas, the speedster does not have a motor. The second Indigo has a power unit, while it has no doors. The third car is in good condition and is stored in one of Ford’s garages.
During the demonstration of the car, it was planned that the mass version of the Indigo will receive a 6.0 liter V12 power unit with a capacity of 441 horsepower. The motor worked together with a 6-speed manual transmission. It is worth emphasizing that Aston Martin supercars of the 2000s were later equipped with this engine.
Although Indigo never began to mass-produce, it is possible to see it in many video games. For example, you can ride Indigo in Need for Speed II and games in the Ford Racing series.
Also earlier, a unique Mantide sports car was put up for sale. As noted, the mileage of a sports car is 16,093 km.
