Valtteri Bottas: “When you start to build relationships with a new engineer, it always requires some work. I have changed the performance engineer – there is a feeling that everything starts from the beginning, but sometimes the changes are beneficial.
In December and January, we discussed my performances, talked about what can be done better on race weekends, what my strengths and weaknesses are. It’s great to work with two new people – it gave me pleasure even on tests. We continue to recognize each other – let’s see how everything goes when we have to look for settings in conditions of limited time. Until now, everything went well.
Last year I started the season well, but now I understand that I could have done a lot better. I already managed to stay ahead of Lewis, I know what I can do. An important role will be played by stability and the correct approach to each weekend. I am sure that I made the necessary conclusions from last season. In the end, this is not higher mathematics, but hard work with the goal of achieving the desired one way or another. ”
