Valentino Rossi: weak race, poor paceSeptember 23, 2019
Valentino Rossi must forget the race in Aragon and never recall it. During the entire 23-round race, the Italian rider tried to find his pace, suffered with rubber and traction. As a result, finished eighth, losing to the winner for more than 23 seconds.
“I knew that I might not have enough pace to compete for prizes, but I hoped to play harder,” – said Valentino Rossi, who qualified sixth.
While Maverick Vignales and Fabio Cuartararo had problems with tires at the end of the race, Valentino Rossi began to lose pace in the middle. For this reason, he lost to his partner 18 seconds. By the way, all Yamaha pilots chose the solid composition of the rear tire, which could also affect. Marc Marquez, Andrea Dovizioso and Jack Miller chose soft rubber – all three finished in prizes!
“The problem is not so much in the rubber as in us, our settings, because the motorcycle was modified in the second half of the season. In general, I’m more competitive, but I’m constantly having more serious problems with rear-wheel grips and slipping than Vinales or Quartararo, ”says Rossi.
Unlike Vinales, in Aragon Rossi used a carbon pendulum and exhaust. This probably also affects.
In the overall standings, Rossi takes sixth place.
