US company offers a Tesla Model Y competitor for the same priceOctober 4, 2020
The American company Mullen Technologies, founded in 2014, announced the start of accepting pre-orders for the MX-05 electric crossover, which can compete with the Tesla Model Y.
At the same time, the $ 55,000 model will debut next year, and the first deliveries are scheduled for the second quarter of 2022.
Earlier the company informed that the cross uses a solid-state battery – it is lighter and safer than a standard lithium-ion battery and has a good service life. In turn, this battery for the MX-05 could provide a cruising range of more than 800 km. But at present, the specified maximum mileage of the electric cross-country is 523 km.
From the technical information, it is only known that there is an all-wheel drive system. The acceleration time to 97 km / h will be 3.2 seconds at a top speed of 250 km / h. With these characteristics, the MX-05 outperforms the Model Y in terms of dynamics and autonomy, while having a comparable cost – Tesla’s flagship Performance variation is available in the US market for $ 60,000.
Note that the number of pre-orders is limited to 100,000 copies. To place an application, you need to make an advance payment of $ 100
In addition, it was recently noted that the Swedish company Volvo is going to release a small crossover XC20. It should be emphasized that although the exact date of the debut of the new product is still unknown, it is reported that it will debut in the next 4.5 years.
