Upgraded Acura RSX Receives Two V8 EnginesDecember 11, 2018
An overseas enthusiast named Ryan Standke decided to add another V8 engine to the Japanese supercar. This is definitely an ambitious and crazy project. We can not wait to see when this car will appear on the roads, so that he can show everything he is capable of.
Ten months ago, someone named Ryan Standke posted one very unusual video on his Youtube channel. The guy owns a 2002 Acura RSX sports coupe. According to his idea, the car should get as many as two power turbine units LS4 V8 with a working volume of 5.3 liters.
According to the calculations of the self-taught engineer, the total power should be in the range of 1700 to 1750 horsepower. Of course, the colossal torque should be transmitted to all four wheels.
So, the work on a rather ambitious project began in 2016 – it was then that Standke decided to equip his version of the already powerful Acura RSX with a 5.3-liter engine. In addition, he installed a massive Garrett turbocharger to increase the maximum power of the engine, increasing the compression. The total power then was about 600 horsepower, but as it is already clear, this turned out to be not enough for the car owner.
He decided to throw the rear seats out of the car and put another similar LS4 V8 engine in their place. On a recently published video, Ryan Standke reveals (in English though) not so many details about his car. Of recent changes, he noted the replacement of the brake system – the rear rotors and brakes are borrowed from the Honda CR-V crossover, as well as weight reduction.
