Swedish crossover new model year 2020 boasts upgraded powertrains, as well as an extended list of options and new exterior colors.
Introduced at the end of 2017, the Volvo XC40 compact crossover received an update.
The car, which will be positioned as an auto 2020 model year, is currently sold in the United Kingdom with an initial price of 28 965 pounds sterling.
Shown last summer, the T3 gasoline engine now boasts several additional horse power 1.5-liter three-cylinder engine produces 163 hp and available for the first time with an 8-speed automatic transmission (optional). With a 6-speed manual gearbox and a T3 engine, the acceleration time from 0 to 100 km / h is 9.3 seconds, and with the “automatic”, this figure becomes 0.3 seconds longer.
The base price for a crossover with a 2.0-liter T4 is now 1,400 pounds sterling lower, since this version is available for the first time with front-wheel drive. Compared with the AWD model, acceleration to the first “hundred” takes 8.4 seconds. It is reported that from the beginning of next year, the Volvo XC40 can be ordered with a plug-in hybrid T5 engine.
The list of equipment of the Swedish crossover has also been revised – it includes a 12-volt socket in the trunk, a protective net for cargo, a locked glove box and automatically folding side mirrors. Also worth noting is the 9.0-inch screen of the infotainment system with voice control, satellite navigation, dual-zone climate control, LED headlights, rear parking sensors and 18-inch alloy wheels. In addition, three new exterior colors have become available for the crossover.
The list of safety functions now includes an upgraded system for defining blind spots with a new steering support function that counteracts the vehicle, returning it to the lane to avoid the risk of a collision with a vehicle located in the driver’s blind zone.
