Updated Volvo V90 caught by photo spiesAugust 28, 2019
Changes in the design of the new items are very difficult to find.
The V90 was the third model of the so-called next-generation Volvo a few years ago. More precisely, the large station wagon was introduced after the XC90 and S90 in March 2016, and this means that it will have to be updated soon. The stylish long roof of the model does not look outdated, and these first spy photos of the enriched station wagon suggest that visual changes will be almost invisible to the eyes. But they exist.
If you look closely at the front panel of the car, you will notice that parts of the lower half of the bumper are covered with a black ribbon, and this most likely means that we will see some new design elements. The same situation is in the rear, where the inner parts of the rear lights are glued, as well as the lower bumper diffuser.
In February of this year, Volvo introduced the updated XC90 with very minor exterior changes. Judging by this update, the V90 should also get minimal visual changes, but at least we can expect new graphics for the taillights and probably other fog lights.
The XC90, however, received more important updates for the 90 series. The SUV is now available with a new brake system with kinetic energy recovery, due to which, according to brand representatives, the model can save up to 15% fuel in real-world driving conditions.
We expect that the stylish station wagon will receive the same hybrid powertrains that should bring benefits in terms of performance and fuel consumption. In addition, the V90 should also receive an updated set of safety and assistance systems, including oncoming lane avoidance systems, City Safety with automatic braking and Cross Traffic Alert.
