Updated Toyota C-HR got a version of GR SportOctober 18, 2019
It should be noted that the recently restyled Toyota C-HR crossover appeared in Europe, now the automaker has shown an updated model for the Japanese market.
Changes for different markets are almost the same: different bumpers, modernized lighting, another multimedia system. But there are local features. For example, Japanese buyers will not receive a hybrid 184-horsepower version already available to European customers. At the same time, the Gazoo Racing division developed a “charged” modification of the GR Sport for the local market.
Such a crossover was equipped with an original front bumper, made in the style of GR-variations of other Toyota cars. Also, the car was equipped with 19-inch wheels, and the interior appeared more embossed seats, a special steering wheel and a slightly different decor.
Updates in the technical part include an additional amplifier under the bottom, recalibrated springs and shock absorbers, new anti-roll bars and a different configuration of the power steering. Such improvements should make the Toyota C-HR GR Sport more sporty.
But the engine lineup has not changed: it is a 1.2-liter turbo engine with a capacity of 116 hp, which works together with a 6-speed manual transmission. In addition, a hybrid power unit is proposed, consisting of a 98-horsepower atmospheric 1.8-liter engine and an electric motor (72 hp). Paired with it, an electromechanical variator functions. Drive is available only front. The entire updated line is already available in Japan.
