Updated SUV Baojun 530 received a new transmissionNovember 6, 2018
Baojun 530, on the creation of which at one time worked two auto giant – General Motors and SAIC, boasts an improved version. The crossover of the new model year, intended for the “sub-small” car market, changed the list of available transmissions and also became richer in terms of optional equipment. So, the multimedia complex can now be controlled using voice commands, the dashboard has become half virtual, and the safety of the driver and his passengers is ensured by all-round cameras.
After the upgrade, a couple of 1.5-liter turbo engines will be made up of a CVT variator, which replaced the previous robotic transmission. The 137-hp engine 1.8-liter, as before, works in tandem with a six-speed manual transmission.
Interestingly, the sales of the joint “brainchild” of GM and SAIC had no particular problems. Chinese motorists got access to the new product this spring, and immediately the model broke into the TOP of the most sought-after SUVs, leaving behind the previous bestsellers of the segment – Toyota RAV4, Kia Sportage, Nissan Qashqai and others.
