The German brand is preparing to introduce a restyling version of the compact crossover.

On the eve of the debut of the updated Porsche Macan, the manufacturer told what difficulties it was necessary to pass the test cars on its way. The model underwent a series of serious tests in South Africa: partly rough asphalt, dusty gravel roads and complex mountain passes.

The program of sea trials has been successfully completed and the company has already confirmed that the entrance to the restyling Macan market will take place at the end of this month. First, a compact Porsche crossover will go on sale in the Celestial market.

The manufacturer does not disclose details of restyling, but judging by the spy photos and video that appeared earlier in the Net, changes in the exterior of the car will be unimportant: the front bumper will be slightly redesigned, as well as the configuration of the head optics and rear lights. The latter, apparently, will be connected by a retro-reflective bar, like the new Panamera and Cayenne.

Changes are planned in the composition of the power scale, which is likely to include more modern V6 engines with a volume of 2.9 and 3.0 liters. It is not excluded also the appearance of a hybrid version, the power plant for which will be borrowed from the Panamera 4 E-Hybrid. The interior of the car will also be refreshed, where a larger display of the infotainment system will appear and the front panel will be retouched.

Recall, a full-fledged start of sales of Porsche Macan took place in 2014. From the moment the manufacturer claims, about 350,000 cars were sold. By the way, Macan sales volumes are increasing every year, for example, in 2011 23 317 units were sold, in 2016 – 24 904 pieces, in 2017, 26 555 copies, and for five months of this year the cross sold 9 972 vehicles. In the US market, these figures are: 13 533, 19 332, 21 429 and 9 381, respectively.

In addition, Porsche is preparing a completely new model – a coupe-like modification of the Cayenne. The debut of the model is not far off.
