Updated Mini John Works GP appeared on the tests of the NurburgringJune 23, 2019
The automaker from the UK decided to present a novelty in Germany.
We are talking about the most powerful hatchback of the company, which is still tested in camouflage. The car in public overcame the Northern Loop route. It is worth noting that the last copy of the Mini John Works GP was produced in 2012.
Under the hood, the car has a four-cylinder turbocharged power unit with a capacity of 218 liters. with a volume of 1.6 liters. It is possible that this will be the engine of the BMW X2 M35i SUV, now mass-produced. The car known to all motorists of the world in the past overcame the road in 8 minutes. and 23 sec. Today we managed to do it in exactly 8 minutes.
Tests on the tracks will last more than one month: experts will adjust the suspension, check the brakes, upgrade the steering, explore the possibility of installing parts from lightweight materials to reduce the overall weight of the car. Hatchbacks are going to be mass-produced since 2020 with a limited batch of 300 pieces of equipment. It is not excluded that the premiere of the car will take place at the end of this year. The updated model Mini John Works GP will have a different body kit, a spoiler in the rear, exhaust system pipes, a diffuser in the bumper and original wheel rims will be paired. On the sides of the car will flaunt the letters “GP”.
