Updated KIA Sportage officially unveiledMay 10, 2020
The new version will be available in the car market in Europe. The model received a new engine range and richer technical equipment.
KIA has decided to upgrade its mid-size Sportage crossover for European buyers. Details about the new product became known on Sunday, May 10. The main innovation was the refinement of the CRDi turbodiesel engine, which has a capacity of 136 hp. at 320 Nm of torque. Now it has been supplemented with a 48-volt starter-generator, which will provide the car with better dynamics when starting from a place, as well as save fuel in some conditions. After the upgrade, a car with this type of motor will become more environmentally friendly, which is very important in Europe. The charge will accumulate due to the restoration of kinetic energy during braking.
In tandem with such a motor, a 6MKPP or a 7-band robot will work, depending on the selected configuration. As an option, an all-wheel drive system is available. Two other power plants will remain in the engine range – we are talking about a 1.6-liter “aspirated” with a power of 132 hp. and 177 hp turbo engine
Of the technical equipment, we note a more modern multimedia system – it will receive an enlarged screen, a stylish design and an integrated navigation system.
We also note the presence of cruise control, rain and light sensors, heating of all seats, climate control for all zones and alloy wheels are already in the basic version. The updated KIA Sportage will debut in the UK market at the end of this year, and already in 2021 it will reach other countries.
