Updated Infiniti Q60 Black S will be shown this fallMarch 26, 2018
Ready for production prototype can debut in the near fall.
The upgraded conceptual sports coupe Infiniti Q60 Project Black S with a racing hybrid powerplant can publicly present in early October at the Paris Motor Show. The new performance of the car will be ready for production, if the manufacturer’s management will give the green light to the project, informs the edition of Car Advice.
Like the previous version of the concept, the new Q60 Black S will develop a power of about 500 hp. For the Black version borrowed a 400-hp three-liter turbo engine with the version of the Q60 Red Sport, however, a new option can get the technology racing F1 cars. The power plant of the coupe will transform the energy received during the braking process and from the heat of the exhaust gases into electricity, which will be directed to help the ICE in rotation of the crankshaft and turbines. Such a decision, presumably, will avoid turbulence. Installing the titanium exhaust system will provide a slight reduction in weight and improve the sound of the motor V6.
The serial model, if approved, can get a sports suspension following the concept, an advanced aerodynamic body kit and a series of carbon parts to reduce weight. It is assumed that the serial Infiniti Q60 Black S will not appear on the market before 2020, where it will compete with Mercedes-AMG C 63 S, Audi RS5, BMW M4 and Lexus RC F.
The main market for the Infiniti Q60 is the United States. Last year, more than 10,000 units were sold, while in Europe the sales volume of the model was slightly more than 500 pieces.
The closest novelties of the Infiniti brand will be a pair of crossovers in the new Limited version. The manufacturer will present models within the limits of a motor show in New York in some days.
