Updated Genesis G70 tested at the NurburgringMay 24, 2020
A Korean luxury sedan was spotted during road trials.
The new Genesis G80 attracts so much attention right now, especially with its price tag, which directly competes with European rivals of the model. Of course, the style of the G80 has always been a subject of conversation, giving Korean luxury sedan such great authority among enthusiasts and journalists alike.
The brand, however, does not leave the smallest member in its sedan lineup. The Genesis G70 gets an update mid-cycle, and spy shots of the updated model have already appeared, telling us that the launch is just around the corner. Moreover, a new video appeared on Youtube during tests at the Nurburgring.
The heavy-skinned prototype seen on the track was the same prototype we noticed this week (gallery above) without even losing a bit of our wrapper. In terms of style, we expect the G70 to adopt a two-line design that will become the hallmark of Genesis. The grill, although mostly covered, should be larger in the updated version, similar to the one presented earlier.
Genesis confirmed that the facelift G70 will receive a new 2.5-liter turbocharged gasoline engine, effectively replacing the current 2.0 liter. It is expected that its power will be 290 horsepower, and a torque of 420 Newton meters. The new Genesis G70 will debut in the 2021 or 2022 model year.
