Updated Geely Atlas with Volvo engine will appear in early 2019November 4, 2018
Earlier, we already wrote that Geely is preparing to update its flagship crossover Atlas, in its native market known as Boyue. The car will be available at the beginning of the next year, and the Volvo engine will be added to the engine range.
Despite the fact that the official presentation of the updated Geely Atlas was not yet, we already saw live photos thanks to the registration of the model at the Chinese Patent Office. The 2019 model year’s crossover is characterized by a revised modern design with narrow head and rear optics, a new front and rear bumper, as well as light alloy wheels. At the same time embossed stamp on the body and the glazing line will remain the same.
Restyled Geely Atlas slightly adds in dimensions: length – 4 544 mm (+25 mm), width – 1 831 mm, height – 1 713 mm (+19 mm), the distance between the axes – 2 670 mm.
However, the main change will be the extended engine range, in which a modern 1.5-liter turbo engine will appear, capable of developing up to 177 horsepower and 255 Nm of torque. Together with him will work an automatic robotic transmission in seven stages. As an option will be available all-wheel drive system.
Prices for new items will be announced closer to the start of sales.
In the meantime, it became known that the German concern Daimler (Mercedes) and the Chinese giant Geely are in the process of creating a joint venture for passenger traffic in China.
