Updated Fiat Tipo showed in the first photosMay 12, 2020
New images that have appeared on the Web show an updated version of the Fiat Tipo family hatchback ahead of the expected official debut later this year.
The most obvious change in style is the addition of the new Fiat logo, which changes the red and silver rounded corner badge found on modern production models to a simpler retro design, first seen on Centoventi’s concept last year.
Other visible details include new LED headlights, a bold new front grill and a modified fog lamp trim. This prototype has a sporty contrasting body, which hints that the updated Tipo will be offered in an exhausted cross look, like its neighbors 500X and Panda.
A snapshot of the interior gives little, but the analog speedometer and rev counter of the current car gave way to a digital instrumental display similar to the new Fiat 500e. Otherwise, the dashboard looks almost the same as before, and the current multifunction steering wheel is moved basically unchanged.
Regarding technical changes, Tipo with facelift is likely to be offered with a new soft hybrid drivetrain, which is recently available on the Panda and 500. It includes a 1.0-liter three-cylinder gasoline engine with a 12-volt belt-driven electric motor and a lithium-ion The battery installation is said to reduce emissions by up to 30%.
