Updated Audi RS4 Avant almost ready for presentationJune 4, 2019
Audi may decide to show the RS4 Avant 2020 at the Frankfurt Motor Show in September of this year. The car will receive an updated appearance, but its engine is likely to remain the same.
When a couple of weeks ago, Audi introduced the updated representatives of the A4 family, there was no high-performance RS4 Avant wagon. It is expected that the car will be shown in the coming months. After seeing all the other participants, including the slightly less powerful S4 Avant wagon, it is not too difficult to imagine what changes the “hot” wagon is waiting for.
The prototype of the latter was seen in traffic to show serial taillights, as well as converted headlights. Like the younger members of the compact family, the new RS4 will get a wider front grille, located slightly lower on the front panel, along with imperceptibly updated bumpers. Audi may also add some new shades to the bodywork and, perhaps, new sets of alloy wheels.
We do not expect any updates for the engine, so the current 2.9-liter V6 is likely to produce the same 444 hp. power and 600 Nm of the moment, as before. Acceleration to 100 km / h will take 4.1 seconds, and the maximum speed will be 280 km / h.
Although the journalists could not look into the salon of the novelty, we already have a good idea of what might be there, since other updated A4 / S4 models have lost rotary / button control in favor of the storage area in the center. The latest MMI infotainment system with a 10.1-inch touchscreen will dominate the dashboard, but it will not be integrated into the center console. Larger models, such as the A6, A7, A8 and Q8, also have an additional touch screen under the MMI to provide access to climate settings, while on the new RS4 you will still have traditional buttons and knobs.
