Unusual motorcycle Lotus C-01 will be sold at auctionJuly 18, 2019
This model was introduced in 2014 by the German Kodewa racing team and the Holzer Group aerospace company. A total of 100 copies were produced and 99 of them are in private collections.
Lotus C-01 was also created with the participation of industrial designer Bugatti and Volkswagen Daniel Simon. At one time, he designed the light motorcycles for the film “Tron: The Legacy” and all the Hydra cars for the film “Captain America: The First Avenger”. Well, for work on C-01, Simon was inspired by the Lotus 49 race car for Formula 1. And despite the fact that the model was licensed by Lotus auto company, it has almost nothing to do with it.
The bike is driven by a 195-cc V-engine KTM RC8R with 200 hp. and 120 Nm of torque. Also available six-speed gearbox and electronic injection. And there are no electronic helpers in it.
In order not to make heavy the construction of a motorcycle, the developers used titanium and aluminum. So without liquids it has a mass of 181 kg. Parts selected premium: Sachs fork, Öhlins suspension, Brembo brakes, BST carbon wheels.
The only free bike as lot number R539 will be sold by auction at Mecum Monterey 2019, which will be held August 15-17. It is not yet known what its starting price is. Note that five years ago, buyers laid out 137,000 dollars for their copies of a rare bike.
