Unique Ford station wagon from Mustang creator put up for saleMay 26, 2020
The 1967 Ford Country Squire wagon with V8 engine was put up for sale at the Bring a Trailer auction in the United States. This is the only car in the world built at the request of one of the customers of the brand, which he personally addressed to Lee Iacocca, the then president of Ford and one of the “fathers” of the Mustang model.
Despite the fact that station wagons are most often used as family cars, there are many “charged” models among them. This Ford Country Squire is also one of them. It was built in 1967 under the leadership of the head of the American company Lee Iacocca, and in a single copy.
Under the hood of the car, a V8 gasoline power unit with a capacity of 345 horsepower is installed. The installation is paired with a 4-speed manual transmission, which has been completely renovated. In addition to modifying the unit, the restorers finalized the fuel injection system, replaced the front brakes, in addition, installed a new clutch, power windows and air conditioning.
The exterior of this sample is made with a classic wood applique for those years. The interior of the 53-year-old Country Squire is covered in white leather. Also, the 3rd row of station wagon seats can be unfolded to increase capacity. Together with the car, which now costs $ 30,000, the seller will give the original documents.
