A one-of-a-kind prototype sedan will be sold at Bonhams auction. The basis was the serial model 155 Q4, which got the components and assemblies from Lancia Delta HF Integrale, reports the Internet portal Motor.

Auction house Bonhams rarely puts up for auction rare and unique car. This time was not an exception, because collectors and car enthusiasts had a great opportunity to purchase the world’s only copy of Alfa Romeo 155 GTA Stradale. Sedan was planned as a prototype of a limited version, dedicated to the victories in the European body championships. Its cost is estimated at 180 – 220 thousand euros.

The car was developed under the strict guidance of Sergio Limone – a well-known engineer of Abarth and the creator of Lancia 037. The basis was the all-wheel drive model 155 Q4, the hallmark of which is an iron, not aluminum, differential case. This allowed the mass to shift to the rear axle.

In the engine compartment of the prototype installed engine modified in accordance with the specification of the group N engine. The performance of the 155th is not disclosed yet. Unlike the standard model, the GTA Stradalé has extended wheel arches and a large rear spoiler. The bumper is made for racing sports cars.

By the closure of the project led a number of difficulties in production. For example, the launch of an additional assembly line for a more powerful V6 engine, which the FIAT management wished to install on this car. So the series, he never came out. A prototype was first demonstrated in 1994 at the Bologna Motor Show. GTA Stradale has been running for nothing in his life – 40,000 kilometers.
