Ultrafast charge from Porsche for Mission E will also work with TeslaOctober 4, 2016
Porsche is developing ultra-fast charging for the next generation of electric vehicles Volkswagen, which includes its own Porsche Mission E, Audi e-tron quattro and the last car the VW, presented at the Paris Motor Show.
Representatives of the German company confirmed that it is working with other automakers on developing technologies and said they would work even with cars Tesla. Porsche officials also said that the 800-volt charging system will charge the battery Mission E at 80% for about 15 minutes.
Mission E electric vehicles and other next-generation Volkswagen will only appear at the end of the decade and Porsche says that new charging stations using the ultra-fast charging will start working at about the same time. The company is committed to working with other automakers to facilitate the appearance of plants.
Tesla has a significant advantage with fast charging electric vehicles. Super Charge Tesla has a capacity of 145 kW and company vehicles can get up to 120 kW, or about twice the power output than other electric vehicles available today. However, Porsche system says about 2 times faster, and more powerful.
