Ultima RS Hypercar debuts with power up to 1200 hpJune 8, 2019
The novelty debuts at the festival of speed in Goodwood (UK), but interested buyers can now pre-order on the company’s website. The choice will be offered several options for power V8 from GM.
The design of the Ultima RS is inspired by the era of endurance racing Group-C of the 1980s and 1990s. Porsche 956 and Jaguar XJR-12 were considered separately as examples. Compared to earlier models of the British company, the appearance of the Ultima RS focuses on increasing downforce and improving aerodynamic performance. To do this, there are elements such as a front splitter mounted on the chassis, vortex generators, a large rear diffuser and a rear fender with a winch.
Customers have several power options to choose from, all of which use the V8 engine from the American concern General-Motors. The LT1 base package will get a 6.2-liter V8 with 480 horsepower. There is also a 6.2-liter supercharged V8 – this version will be called the LT4, producing 650 hp. The RS with a 6.2-liter supercharged V8 (LT5) comes standard with a power of 800 hp, but Ultima offers the setting of this motor to 1200 hp.
The only gearbox available is the 6-speed manual. “The Ultima RS is a real car for the driver, so it is only available with a six-speed manual gearbox and clutch pedal,” the company writes.
Ultima RS is oriented for racing, but if you wish, you can order it with air conditioning, navigation, rear-view camera, parking sensors, and leather or alcantara seats with lumbar support.
