UK car market remained in positive dynamics following September resultsOctober 6, 2019
Sales growth was 1.3%. Despite the positive dynamics, the result was lower than predicted.
Experts of the Avtostat portal shared information on the dynamics of sales in the UK car market in September 2019. During the reporting period, 343,255 new cars were sold in the UK, which is 1.3% more than a year earlier. However, experts do not call this a good sales volume. A positive trend is associated with the low sale of new cars in September 2018, when new rules for certification of cars came into force in the European Union.
In total, according to the results of the first three quarters, the British car market is in the red by 2.5% with the volume of 1,910,820 cars sold.
The most popular among the British are German cars. However, the American Ford tops the rating with a result of 32,522 sold cars (-2.4%). Mercedes-Benz is in second place with a slight lag (30 398 units, + 0.8%). Another German representative closes the top three is BMW (27,834 copies, -0.4%). The best of the local automakers Vauxhall did not quite reach the place in the TOP-3 (27,403 units, -5%). And in fifth place is Volkswagen, which the British bought 19,632 times. He showed the best dynamics among the leaders – “plus” 20%.
Meanwhile, Audi said they learned how to make gas from waste. 50% of the new type of fuel consists of high-quality renewable materials. The novelty is going to be presented at one of the stages of the DTM racing series.
