German studio increased the output of the “record” turbo engine by 104 horsepower

Posaidon engineers released a tuning kit RS 525 for the Mercedes-AMG A 45 hot hatch with a two-liter M 139 turbo engine. After intervention, the engine output increases from 421 horsepower and 500 Nm of torque to 525 horsepower and 600 Nm of torque with constant working volume.

So far, Posaidon’s intervention is limited to two performance enhancement kits: the first whale is an exclusively software revision that boosts the turbo four 2.0 to 465 horsepower (+44 power) and 560 Nm of torque (+60 Nm) due to the firmware of the electronic control unit.

The RS 525 tuning kit, which increases power to 525 horsepower, will require not only a new chip, but also a turbocharger replacement, a reconfiguration of the 8-speed robotized gearbox and an all-wheel drive system. While both sets are not available for order, since Posaidon’s modifications are certified by the German TÜV technical supervision.

The calculated characteristics of the “charged” Mercedes-AMG A 45 with Posaidon packages are known: a 465-horsepower hot hatch accelerates from zero to 100 kilometers per hour in 3.6 seconds (-0.3 seconds to stock), a 525-horsepower modification performs this exercise in “supercar” 3.4 seconds. In addition, the RS 525 package implies the removal of a speed limiter, which means that the maximum speed increases from standard 250-270 kilometers per hour to 324 kilometers per hour.

It is known that the Posaidon studio intends to offer other branded accessories for the A-Class as read by AMG: engineers are engaged in fine-tuning the custom exhaust system, testing more efficient brakes, planning to offer a sports suspension, new carbon fiber 20-inch wheels and body kit.

In addition, an even more global set of engine refinement is being prepared with the installation of a pair of turbocompressors – probably, at this level of boost, the output of the turbo four 2.0 will increase to about 600 hp and 700 Nm.

Since the M 139 engine is installed on all new models of the A45 Mercedes-AMG family, Posaidon tuning will fit the line of CLA sedans and station wagons, as well as the GLA crossover. However, for each model, the German studio will release a separate package of improvements, taking into account the individual settings of the box and all-wheel drive.
