TVR Griffith coupe design revivedJanuary 24, 2020
The only existing instance of the conceptual model may soon appear on public roads.
The TVR Griffith coupe project, shown back in 2017, has not progressed all these years, being stuck at the initial stage. Now, on the Web, information has appeared that TVR customers have received a letter in which brand manager Leslie Edgar shares plans for the future of Griffith. About this writes the foreign portal Autocar. British businessman Leslie Edgar acquired the TVR brand in 2013. Journalists carefully read the message and came to the conclusion that this concept car still exists in a single copy, and has not progressed in its development.
However, the existing problems could not prevent the car from registering and gaining access to public roads. At the same time, in the near future coupe TVR Griffith should go to the first tests.
It is also known that TVR has an agreement with Ford to use Mustang’s 5-liter V8 Coyote engine. What power the engine will give out on Griffith, unfortunately, is not reported. Experts suggest that we can talk about power of 506 hp. The brand plans to release the “debut” part of Griffith performed by Launch Edition. The limited edition is only 500 units, and all these cars have already been pre-ordered. For the reservation of the coupe, it was necessary to leave an advance payment of 6 thousand euros.
How soon the first commodity TVR Griffith will fall into the hands of its customers has not yet been announced. Obviously, this will not happen in the near future, since work on the project is not progressing as fast as we would like. Novelty should get on the conveyor of the plant in the British city of Ebbu Weil. The car interior, based on a carbon and steel chassis, is decorated with leather and Alcantara and looks very vintage. Such a coupe gains the first 100 kph in 4 seconds, and its maximum speed reaches 320 km / h.
