TVR almost showed sport prototype for Le MansApril 5, 2018
The British TVR brand has published a sports prototype teaser, with which it intends to return to the “24 Hours of Le Mans” marathon. Later, the tweet with the image was deleted. The last time the company participated in the race 13 years ago, in 2005.
According to the publication Racer, the machine is based on the prototype class LMP1 Rebellion R13. It is built on the Oreca chassis and is equipped with a 4.5 liter V8 engine from Gibson. The delivery of the unit is about 680 horsepower.
The last car TVR, which participated in the “24 Hours of Le Mans”, was a supercar Tuscan Speed Six 400R with a four-liter inline six-cylinderengine.
His latest road model – Griffith – the British manufacturer introduced in September 2017 at the festival of speed in Goodwood. The coupe, built on a carbon-fiber chassis with a ground effect, is equipped with a modified version of the five-liter V8 Ford engine of the Coyote family. The delivery of the unit is 506 horsepower.
From zero to 100 kilometers per hour, the TVR Griffith can accelerate in four seconds. Its maximum speed exceeds 322 kilometers per hour.
