Tuners present electric Volkswagen Transporter in GenevaFebruary 16, 2019
The German tuning studio ABT Sportline has prepared for the Geneva Motor Show a unique modification of the passenger van. Transporter will replace the engine with a fully electric installation.
ABT presented its new product on the web, which will be publicly shown in Geneva. Modified Volkswagen e-Transporter will receive an electric motor and stylistic changes. Externally, the van will be different new kit, including the bumper, wheel arch extensions, and grille. Also, the model will be equipped with unique alloy wheels with a green accent and a black base on the 20-inch ABT Sport GR with tires Continental 275/35.
The main update will be the change of engine to an electric motor capable of developing up to 111 horsepower and 200 Nm of torque. As the power source, a lithium-ion battery of 37.3 kW * hours is used, which will provide a power reserve of approximately 200 km. In addition, the model will receive a version with a more capacious battery of 74.5 kW * hours, which will increase the cruising range to 400 km / h.
The creation of the electric VW e-Transporter was handled by a subsidiary – ABT e-Line, which, as reported, can electrify both the minivan and the Transporter van, as well as the younger Volkswagen Caddy.
Meanwhile, ABT tuners worked on the Audi A6 Avant wagon. After the upgrade, the German model acquired a more powerful engine and a “refreshed” appearance. It is known that the modified wagon can be seen at the Geneva Motor Show in March.
