At the Indian plant of KIA, located in the state of Andhra Pradesh, the production of a test batch of a new crossover with a factory SP2i index has started. SUV has become the serial embodiment of the concept car KIA SP, last year debuted at the International Motor Show in New Delhi. It is known that in full force the Indian company will start working by the middle of this year. Then Indian motorists will be able to purchase a novelty.
What name will KIA SP2i, it remains only to guess. The name for the new crossover was chosen by KIA customers themselves, leaving their vote on the model website. The results in the company did not disclose, however, according to preliminary data, the names “Tusker” and “Trazor” became leaders.
The motor gamma of the novelty is also kept secret. According to one version, KIA SP2i can get power units like the Indian Hyundai Creta. Drive a new SUV will get the front, because all-wheel drive models in India are not in special demand.
How detailed serial KIA SP2i will repeat last year’s prototype, it is difficult to judge. On the shots which have got to the Network the car is hidden by a camouflage film.
