TRD introduced the concept of the new Supra 3000GTOctober 21, 2019
Some wild Toyota Supras will appear at the SEMA Show this year, but the TRD GR Supra 3000GT concept may well be the wildest variation of the A90 generation to date.
Toyota Racing Development (TRD) began teasing the public with this concept before its world debut at the SEMA Show on November 5th. Very little is known about forced Supra, as TRD does not currently disclose information.
However, photos and video teasers definitely leave us hungry for more, as they reveal stylish fixed wings floating above the Supra 3000GT Concept carbon spoiler, as well as a hood with four significant air vents.
If you have a sense of deja vu, then this is because this concept goes back to the TRD 3000GT wide body concept based on the Supra A80, which was shown at the 1994 Tokyo Motor Show. In addition to the huge rear wing and ventilated hood, one should expect significantly wider wheel arches, more aggressive bumpers, non-standard alloy wheels, as well as, possibly, modernization of the engine, suspension and exhaust gases.
The engine maker recently suggested that the production unit of the 3.0-liter in-line B58 B58 used by Supra could gain up to 1,000 hp. without the need for extended mods in the engine block, so we can’t wait to see what TRD did with the engine.
In addition to the GR Supra 3000GT Concept, TRD will also be introducing the GR Supra Performance Line in Las Vegas, which debuted earlier this year at the Osaka Auto Messe. The model is equipped with aerodynamic parts available in Japan, which are likely to appear in North America.
