Trasco have released a bullet-proof supercar Aston Martin DB11September 10, 2018
German company Trasco has developed ultralight armor for the 608-hp British supercar Aston Martin DB11, which became the heaviest by 150 kilograms
The German company Trasco, specializing in the creation of armored vehicles, presented a program for the development of the Aston Martin DB11 supercar. After the modernization, the coupe provides protection against “attacks with light firearms and attempted robbery.”
In the design of the Aston Martin DB11 doors, armored steel and additional composite materials were used, and standard factory glasses were replaced with bullet-proof ones. The total mass of protective components was only 150 kilograms.
According to the developers, the use of armor did not affect the “driving characteristics and the degree of car comfort”. The Aston Martin DB11 is equipped with a 5.2-liter Biturbo V12 engine developing 600 HP and 700 Nm of torque. The engine is paired with an eight-speed automatic transmission. The standard coupe is capable of accelerating from place to 100 km/h in 3.9 seconds, and its maximum speed is 322 km per hour.
Earlier, the American company Armormax released an armored version of the electric lift Tesla Model S P100D. At the same time, the developers said that they created the fastest armored car in the world.
The design of the electric car was reinforced with a special light-layer synthetic fiber, and with a special ballistic alloy. After modernization, the mass of a car capable of withstanding rifle or powerful pistol shots increased by only 250 kilograms.
How exactly the dynamics of the electric vehicle has changed is not known. The conventional Tesla Model S P100D can accelerate from place to 96 km / h in 2.3 seconds, and its maximum speed is limited to 250 km per hour. The maximum power reserve of the electric car exceeds 400 kilometers.
